Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how RoboLink ("RoboLink", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use the RoboLink application.

RoboLink is designed to connect to and control robots, including sumobots and other robotic devices, using Bluetooth communication with devices such as ESP32 boards and compatible Bluetooth modules.

RoboLink is primarily a robot control application. The app does not require users to create an account and is not intended to collect personal information for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.

1. Information RoboLink May Access

Depending on your device and operating system, RoboLink may request access to certain device features that are necessary for Bluetooth communication.

These may include:

RoboLink requests these permissions only to provide Bluetooth scanning, connection, and robot-control functionality.

2. Bluetooth Device Information

RoboLink may display information about nearby Bluetooth devices, including:

This information is used to allow you to identify and connect to the ESP32, Bluetooth module, robot controller, or other compatible device that you want to control.

3. Robot Commands and Sensor Data

RoboLink may send control commands to a connected robot through Bluetooth. These commands may include, for example:

RoboLink may also receive data from a connected robot, such as sensor readings, status values, mode information, or other telemetry transmitted by the ESP32 or Bluetooth module.

Unless a future version of RoboLink specifically provides an online storage or cloud synchronization feature, this communication occurs directly between your device and the connected robot through Bluetooth.

4. Personal Information

RoboLink does not require users to provide personal information such as their name, home address, telephone number, date of birth, or other similar information in order to use the main robot-control features of the application.

RoboLink does not sell or rent personal information to third parties.

5. Location Information

RoboLink does not use your location for tracking, advertising, or location profiling.

Some versions of Android may require location permission in order for applications to discover nearby Bluetooth devices. When this permission is required, RoboLink uses it only as necessary to support Bluetooth device discovery.

RoboLink is not intended to collect or store your precise geographic location.

6. Data Sharing

RoboLink does not sell personal information or Bluetooth device information.

Information may only be disclosed when required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or lawful government request.

7. Data Storage

RoboLink may store limited application settings locally on your device, such as user interface preferences or information necessary to improve the convenience of reconnecting to a previously used Bluetooth device.

Locally stored application information remains on your device unless you remove it, clear the application's data, or uninstall the application.

8. Internet Access

RoboLink's core robot-control functionality is intended to operate through Bluetooth communication and does not require Bluetooth control commands to be sent through the Internet.

Future versions of RoboLink may use Internet access for features such as application updates, documentation, support, or other optional services. If the application's data practices materially change, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

9. Third-Party Services

RoboLink may rely on operating-system services or software libraries to provide Bluetooth functionality. These components may be governed by their own terms and privacy practices.

RoboLink does not control the privacy practices of third-party hardware, Bluetooth modules, ESP32 firmware, or other devices that users choose to connect to the application.

10. Security

We take reasonable steps to design RoboLink so that Bluetooth communication and locally stored application information are handled appropriately.

However, no Bluetooth connection, electronic transmission, or method of data storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should connect only to Bluetooth devices and robots that they recognize and trust.

11. Children's Privacy

RoboLink may be used in robotics education, competitions, and similar activities. The application is not designed to collect personal information from children.

If RoboLink is used by a minor, a parent, guardian, teacher, or responsible adult should supervise its use when appropriate.

12. Robot Safety

RoboLink controls physical robotic devices. Users are responsible for operating robots in a safe environment and in accordance with the instructions and limitations of the connected hardware.

Always keep people, animals, fragile objects, and hazardous materials away from moving robots. RoboLink should not be used to control equipment in situations where malfunction, disconnection, delayed commands, or unexpected movement could cause serious injury or property damage.

13. Your Choices

You may control RoboLink's permissions through your device settings. You may disable Bluetooth, revoke Bluetooth or nearby device permissions, clear application data, or uninstall the application at any time.

Please note that disabling Bluetooth-related permissions may prevent RoboLink from discovering or connecting to robots.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when RoboLink's features, technologies, or legal requirements change.

When changes are made, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
